Swift Current and area community members, golfers, and 57's fans who registered for the 57's Golf Tournament will be taking to the fairways tomorrow morning.

The nine-hole scramble will be hosted by the Chinook Golf Course beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Laurie Girardeau, the billet coordinator for the 57's, noted that the event is not a fundraiser, it's simply a chance to mingle with the team and meet some of the players.

"We're putting on a golf tournament for the team and the community," she said. "Just keeping it pretty lowkey and casual to get the guys out into the community to meet locals."

The tournament will include a chipping contest, a putting contest, and a burger meal for $20 per person.

"We've had some good sponsors that are helping pay for all the players and coaches costs," Girardeau shared.

The deadline to register for the tournament was on June 21 and registrants are responsible for paying their own green fees.
