The Swift Current 57's picked up their third win in two nights over the Weyburn Beavers with a 6-3 victory at Mitchell Field on Thursday.

The 57's were helped by another great pitching performance by Gregor Farquharson, who struck out five batters and allowed four hits over 5.2 innings for the win after coming in for injured starter Graydon Stauffer. Zack Stylianou got the last three outs in the ninth to get the save. Logan Pascal was the losing pitcher for Weyburn.

Logan Stockton opened the scoring by coming in on a fielding error in the second inning, then after Brandon Billesberger hit a three-run home run in the top of the fourth to give Weyburn a 3-1 lead, Thomas Collins scored on a sacrifice fly by Mathew Ward in the bottom half of the inning, then Collins hit an RBI single to bring home Cory Bonstrom, and Stockton drove in Tejean Smith with a single of his own in the fifth inning to put Swift Current ahead 4-3. Ward scored on a sacrifice fly by Justin Barnes and Smith hit an RBI single in the seventh to bring home Hayden Cooper and wrap up the scoring for Swift Current.

The 57's are now two games below .500 with a 21-23 record and are off for the next couple of days as six players get ready for the WCBL All-Star Game in Okotoks, Alberta, on Saturday. Pitchers Trent Greek, Adam Golby and Kenny Jinks, catcher Logan Grant, infielder Tejean Smith and outfielder Thomas Collins will be representing Swift Current on the East Division All-Star team.

The 57's return to league action when they host Weyburn again on Sunday night at 7:05pm from Mitchell Field.
