A Problem for Saskatchewan Farmers

Gophers are a pest again.

Saskatchewan Agriculture says as well as infesting pastures, the rodents also are a pest this year in many parts of the grainbelt.

In the Moosomin area, gophers have completely taken areas in some hay fields.

In the Southwest, near Mankota, gophers have taken up to one third of the crop.

And, in the Kincaid area, one farmer lost 100 acres each of flax and mustard to gophers.
