This Friday, I was able to take the Southwest Explorer 4X4 out to the ever-scenic Saskatchewan Landing. My first stop was the beach, which seemed like the place to be, as many happy campers and park visitors were enjoying the water. The cool flow of the South Saskatchewan river was more than welcoming in the powerful heat.

Soon after leaving the river's edge, I made my way to the marina, which was particularly scenic. Kids were fishing off the docks, in between the dozens of sailboats, surf boats, and houseboats. The nearby mini-golf course was also well occupied, so I settled for a brief walk through the campgrounds.

I was lucky to have visited on a Friday, because the weekly market was around. A good handful of vendors had set up shop in the Sagebrush campground, and sold goods from all across the province. Just before leaving, I had to stop at the historic Goodwin House, which was packed with lifelike creatures, models, and information about the area. I spoke to the park ranger there, who recommended the challenging hike along Razorback Ridge for my next visit. I have been to the Saskatchewan Landing many times, but it always seems there is something new and interesting that keeps me coming back.
