The community of Shaunavon came out Monday evening to show their support for healthcare workers.

Residents were invited to come out to the parking lots at The Shaunavon Hospital and Long Term Care Monday night at six forty five, and then at seven o'clock honk their horns in support of everything healthcare workers do for us. Local RCMP and the Shaunavon Fire Department were also there to sound their sirens.

The event was organized by Shaunavon resident, Kevin Szwetz, who said he felt something special needed to be done. "I've been watching it on the news and I've seen other towns and cities and stuff doing some recognition of their healthcare workers, and I thought, ya know, our healthcare workers work just as hard as those healthcare workers, so I thought we needed to do something for them."

Szwetz said it was a great turnout and display of support, and, of course, everyone practiced social distancing during the event.
