A Maple Creek man charged with second-degree murder made his second court appearance this morning, this time in Swift Current Provincial Court, and had his matter adjourned two weeks.

Fifty-six-year-old Ronald Plummer faces the murder charge following a two-vehicle collision that killed 50-year-old Lesa Zoerb, also of Maple Creek, on October 7. (Plummer was 55 at the time.)

Plummer is also charged with aggravated assault from earlier that day, with that incident involving a second alleged victim. He now has a no-contact order with that person, except in the presence of a lawyer,

According to an October 9 Facebook post by the Correctional Service of Canada, Zoerb was an employee with the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge returning from supervising an offender at a hospital, when the crash occurred. Police say the collision was two kilometres north of Maple Creek on Highway 21.

Plummer's first court appearance was Friday in Saskatoon Provincial Court, and he appeared in person this morning in Swift Current. His next court date is for February 13, by video link, as he'll be in custody in Regina.
