A 56-year-old Maple Creek man has been charged with second-degree murder in the early-October crash just north of Maple Creek that claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman from the southwest town.

Ronald Plummer was handed the second degree murder (Sec. 235(1), Criminal Code) charge after an RCMP investigation into the October 7 motor vehicle collision found he was at fault for the death of Maple Creek resident Lesa Zoerb.

Plummer was also pegged with an aggravated assault charge (Sec. 268, Criminal Code), after the RCMP uncovered that an assault had occurred earlier that day.

The 55-year-old will be appearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court Friday morning at 9 a.m.
