Cycling activities, prizes, food, and safety awareness will all be in abundance this afternoon at the City of Swift Current’s annual Bike Safety Event.

In Motion Community Facilitator, Val Choo-Foo, elaborated on the event.

“This event is always a great time for people to come on out,” she explained. “We feature helmet and bike inspections, learning hand signals, and safety awareness. We have some fun cycling activities that are going to take place at the Sheldon Kennedy rink and then there's some great opportunities for prizes.”

This year, the City teamed up with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current to bring the event to life.

Families will also have the chance to utilize the new Kiwanis Bike Park, located just up the pathway from Riverdene Park.

Choo-Foo added that all individuals need to bring to participate is a bike and a helmet.

“The one thing we do ask people is to please bring a bike and a helmet so that kids and family, adults all ages can practice their skills,” she concluded.

Hot dogs will be available at the event from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
