Brad Hoban scored the winner only 13 seconds into the third period as the Swift Current Broncos beat Red Deer 2-1 last night.

Neither team was able to light the lamp for the final 39 minutes of the game. Red Deer had an early lead on Turner Elson's unassisted goal but the Broncos struck back only three minutes later.

Jon Groenheyde made 27 saves in his second consecutive first star performance. The loss extended Red Deer's losing skid to eleven and the Broncos climbed to within two points of the ninth place Rebels and within three of Regina for the eighth and final playoff spot in the WHL's Eastern Conference.
