The Swift Current Broncos snapped a five-game losing skid and kicked off 2012 with a big 4-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers at the Credit Union iplex yesterday afternoon.

After having to come back from large deficits over the last few games, the Broncos actually got on the board first, with Daniel Dale getting his third of the year late in the first period. Ryon Moser and Graeme Craig scored a pair of goals just over two minutes apart, to help the Broncos build a 3-0 lead and chase Tiger goalie Tyler Bunz, who allowed three goals on 16 shots. Curtis Valk and James Bettauer scored for the Tigers to close the gap later in the second, but Christian Magnus got an empty-netter late in regulation to seal the win.

Jon Groenheyde made 34 saves for the win in the Broncos net, while Kenny Cameron stopped all seven shots he faced in relief of Bunz.

The Broncos now head out on a three-game road swing in the Central Division, starting Wednesday night in Cranbrook against the Kootenay Ice.
