A ceremonial ribbon cutting marked the official commencement of the new Chamber Hub grand opening yesterday.

Community members and dignitaries Mayor Al Bridal and MLA Everett Hindley, gathered at the second floor of the Innovation Centre to celebrate the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce’s new office location.

CEO Karla Wiens greeted attendees with tours and an opportunity to explore the exciting facilities.

“It was phenomenal,” she said. “It's generating excitement. Now we have to spread the word so that people know that this opportunity is available in Swift Current for our entire region."

After opening comments of congratulations, community members mingled in conversation and enjoyed snacks and coffee.

Now, the next step for Chamber staff is to watch their efforts pay off. The innovative space paves the way for increased support to entrepreneurs and home-based businesses around the southwest.

Postcards with QR codes will be distributed to local hotels and restaurants for anyone who might be looking to utilize the Chamber Hub and its co-working spaces.

“The transition has been amazing,” remarked Wiens. “The facilities folks here at the Innovation Center have been so easy to work with. Our neighbors and fellow tenants have been very welcoming to us in this space, and I'm sure that they'll welcome all of the members and users of the Chamber Hub as well.”
