It was customer appreciation day at CMX Outdoors on Saturday, full of activities including a barbecue lunch to raise funds to help feed community members in need.

Fixed operations manager Ken Erickson noted how residents from Swift Current and surrounding areas are always supportive of local people, businesses and initiatives.

"We live here, we see each other in the grocery stores, we talk to each other when we're out and about in the city," he said. "That's really important in Swift Current. We're a rural community that's tight knit, and I'm so very proud to be a part of it."

The CMX Outdoors event brought in $1,700 just through burger sales, all of which will be used to purchase groceries for the Swift Current Salvation Army Food Bank.

Family fun throughout the day included games and a bouncy castle, live music entertainment, and exciting giveaways.
