Summer is quickly coming to an end, and one of the first signs of the change in seasons is when those cherished summer activities start to wind down.

The last day for residents to enjoy cooling off in the SWT Swimming Pool for a public swim is today—the human ones, that is.

A pooch party is being held in Shaunavon once again tomorrow evening.

Lauren Johnson, Economic Development Officer for the Town, said that small dogs can take the first dip from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and then the big canines can make a splash until 6 p.m.

"Anybody with a four-legged friend can come on down and enjoy the Doggy Swim on Monday," she said. "There is a cost of $5 per dog to attend the event, and all of those proceeds that are raised go back into repair and maintenance of the pool. One of the biggest costs that we have right now that we're looking at, is getting and installing the new boiler."

Owners must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations on the dogs that are going to participate, and every dog needs its own handler. All owners are responsible for cleanup after their dog at the pool.
