The 109th Saskatchewan Amateur Men's Golf Tournament came to an unfortunately early end yesterday for Swift Current's Griffin Wilson.

In a good position after round two, sitting tied for 23rd and poised to climb into the top-20 cut range for the fourth round, Wilson struggled on the back nine on Thursday; with three bogeys, a double bogey and a triple on the final hole proving to be his undoing. He would go on to an 8-over 80 round score and a 15-over for the tournament; dropping him into a tie for 36th and leaving him well outside of the top 20 player cut for the final round.

Prince Albert's Danny Klughart wins his 2nd straight Mid-Am Championship and sits tied for first in the Amateur heading into the fourth and final round in Warman.

Danny Klughart of Prince Albert would go on to shoot a 10-under, leap-frogging the rest of the pack to pull even with Saskatoon's Ty Campbell for a share of first place going into the final round. The score was also good enough to give Klughart three-round Mid Amateur Championship crown yesterday.

On the women's side, Brooklin Fry of Shell Lake made it two in a row and a sweep of the provincials.

After winning the Junior women's championship in Swift Current last week, the 15-year-old came out in the final round in Warman with a pair of birdies on the first two holes and cruised to a 1-over par performance, eventually taking the event by a six-stroke lead over Kathy Ziglo, who finished the tournament at plus-13.

Autumn Neiszner of Regina and Ella Kozak of Yorkton tied for third overall at 17-over.

The fourth and final round of the Amateur men's tees off this morning at 9:40 am.
