City council agreed on Tuesday that it intends to create a committee on Alternate Energy and Energy Reduction.
The committee has been created yet. Tuesday's motion was to give the public notice beforehand.
City Director of Finance, Tim Marcus, says the plan is to give the committee a grant of $300,000.
Marcus says they will look at all sources of energy beyond SaskPower.
