This week is the fourteenth-annual Family Physician's Week in Canada, and Mayor Denis Perrault met with physicians to recognize their contributions to the city on Tuesday.

The week is put on by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and provides a chance for governments, healthcare organizations, colleagues and the public to acknowledge the contributions made by family physicians to improve the health and well-being of their patients.

Perrault said that he is thankful for the work and service that they provide.

"I'm so thankful for the service the physicians provide in our community," Perrault said, "I know they work tirelessly, and work an awful lot of hours to make sure that we have a great, safe, caring, and wonderful community."

Perrault added that he was honoured to be able to recognize the doctors for the work that they do.

"They do a lot to keep the well being of our community strong and to keep everyone healthy, and moving forward," he said. "I'm thankful for all the good work that they do, and I was honoured to be able to recognize them for that good work today."
