Over the weekend, Justin LaBrash in partnership with Prehistoric Productions raised funds for the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association Wildfire Relief Fund.

The fundraiser held in Cabri featured LaBrash and his band performing to raise money.

LaBrash is a musician from Lumsden and said the reason he wanted to hold the fundraiser is because his family had been helped out in the past by fundraisers, and when he saw the damage he felt he had to do something.

"Years ago a flood came through and devastated our farm," he said. "A similar fundraiser benefited us back then, so being able to do this fundraiser and give back in such a way, was very special to me personally."

The event raised over $500 for the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association Wildfire Relief Fund, not counting the donations from the volunteers and the hall in Cabri.

LaBrash said the event went pretty well despite the blizzard that caused the attendance to be a little lower than what he expected.

"We had quite the blizzard that day, so we didn't get as many attendees as we hoped, but we still had a decent crowd."

LaBrash added that they had support from communities from the Leader area and the Cabri area and said it was good to see considering the road conditions.
