An historic night for Swift Current Broncos forward Josh Filmon has earned him the honour of WHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 18.

Filmon led all skaters in the league with seven goals last week, including a six-goal game in an 8-4 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday night. He was the first WHL player to score six times in a game since Tyler Ennis of the Medicine Hat Tigers in 2009 and was one goal short of tying the all-time league record for most goals in a game, set by former Bronco Kimbi Daniels when he scored all seven goals for Swift Current in a 7-4 win over the Tigers on October 2, 1990.

Filmon has scored 45 goals and 81 points in 110 career WHL games with Swift Current and was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round, 166th overall, in this year's NHL Draft.

The Broncos return from the Christmas break when they visit Medicine Hat on December 28.
