Fire continues to burn, along one of the gems of Saskatchewan.

A lightning strike associated with Tuesday's storm activity sparked the fire, originating on the Frohwerk land, located about 30 kms northwest of Hazlet in the Great Sandhills region.

Despite having thought the fire was completely put out that night, the fire recently restarted, prompting volunteers from surrounding communities to help put out the blaze.

Cathy Frohwerk says they'll continue to work on extinguishing the flames.

" The Great Sandhills are very important to Saskatchewan, a lot of people don't realize this,         and it's just beautiful. They're doing their best to save the Great Sandhills from the fires.

The Frohwerk family would like to extend it's thanks to all those who have helped with the fire.
