The Swift Current Fire Department has shut down a section of Dahl Street while dealing with a smoking powerline.

Located in the back alley just passed the Central Avenue South and Dahl Street intersection, the line has come into contact with a tree, leading to smoke and possible fire damage.

No details have been released by the fire department yet, and no injuries have been reported.

Power crews are in the area, working on adjacent lines in an effort to help get control of the issue.

Motorists are asked to slow down and to stay clear of the closed section of the road. Pedestrians are being asked to please avoid the area.
