The current dry, hot conditions in the southwest make up the perfect recipe for fires.

This morning The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport issued a fire restriction at the Saskatchewan Landing, in effect immediately.

In the media release issued this morning, the provincial government stated that during Fire Restrictions or Bans, self-contained, CSA-approved portable gas heating devices and fire pits, barbecues, pressurized stoves and charcoal briquettes will be permitted for cooking and heating purposes at park discretion during this restriction.

The campfire restriction order will stay in place until conditions improve enough for restrictions to be lifted.
