The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires exploded for four goals in the second period to double up the Warman Wildcats 4-2 on Tuesday night at InnovationPlex.
After a scoreless first, Jace Egland picked up his 18th goal of the season on the power play 1:44 into the middle frame, with Wesley Olson, Cam Perlinger and Eric Hoiness adding goals before the midway mark. Dawson Gerwing and Carsyn Dyck had power play markers for the Wildcats, but the Legionnaires held on to snap a three-game losing skid.
Egland added two assists for a three-point night and Berney Weston made 27 saves as Swift Current outshot Warman 35-29.
The Legionnaires (25-12-0-4) host the Regina Pat Canadians in their next game on Friday night.
