The Friends of Lac Pelletier, a group of concerned citizens, have filed three Notices of Motion after what they consider to be unwanted development plans for the lake moving forward.

One application is being put against the RM and the Reeve of Lac Pelletier; another notice is being set against the Provincial Director of Community Planning, and a third notice deals with Fisheries and Oceans Canada for the approval of a marina.

Murray Walter, the lawyer representing the Friends of Lac Pelletier says all three notices are filed separately, but they are all connected.  He says the main goal is to require all levels of government to make decisions that comply with their own bylaws, Provincial government legislation and regulations, and Federal government legislations.

Walter says his clients understand that the developer is proceeding with excavation work with respect to the marina, even though it is clear that there is no permit.  The Friends of Lac Pelletier are hoping to get a ruling from the courts that will halt the development.

Two of the Notices of Motion will be in the Court of Queen's Bench in Swift Current on September 29th, while the third does not have a court date set.
