Over 100 people attended the official launch of the Great Plains College yesterday at the Swift Current Campus.

     CEO of the Great Plains College, Mark Frison says the luncheon was a way to celebrate the merger.  The college came into existence on July 1st, but the lunch was a way for students and staff to celebrate what's happening.

     Rob Norris, Minister of Advanced Education, Employment and Labor, says they attended to celebrate the merger of the colleges.  He says they're happy to see the creation of the college and see the merging of the synergies of the two colleges.

     The new college region includes 9 campuses around southwest Saskatchewan.
