The Swift Current Broncos first game in eight days ended with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday afternoon at the SaskTel Centre.

Conor Geekie scored twice, the games opening marker just over eight minutes into the game, and the tying goal with just over five minutes to play in the third.

The Blades responded to Geekies first goal with just minutes to play in the second on the powerplay, while Fraser Minten gave the Blades a lead late in the second period for the first time in the game.

In overtime, Minten would earn his second of the night on an end to end rush that won the game for the Blades.

The Broncos had their fair share of offensive chances and zone time, but only manged 22 shots to the Blades 34 in the game. Swift Current was 0-for-3 on the powerplay while the penalty kill was 1-for-2.

The Broncos are back in action on Wednesday at home against Lethbridge at the InnovationPlex.
