The last coach to lead the Swift Current Broncos to the Ed Chynoweth Cup is returning to the WHL.

This morning Manny Viveiros joined the Vancouver Giants as the team's head coach after spending the last three seasons in the American Hockey League.

The St. Albert, Alberta, product recently guided the Henderson Silver Knights to an 88-79-11 record from 2020 to 2023 including a finals appearance in the 2020-21 playoffs.

Prior to his stint in the AHL, he spent one season as the head coach of the Spokane Chiefs in 2019-2020 as the team went 41-18-5.

The former Prince Albert Raider also was an Edmonton Oilers assistant coach in 2018-19 following the Broncos championship season.

Viveiros coached Swift Current to an 87-40-17 mark from 2016 to 2018 and helped them win five playoff series including the 2018 WHL Finals.
