The RCMP has provided an update on last night's motor vehicle collision on Highway Four.

Last Night, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Swift Current Rural RCMP responded to a collision on Highway Four.

The incident happened north of Blumenort, just before the turn-off to Highway 343.

Investigators report that the collision involved a truck and a minivan. The drivers of both vehicles were declared deceased by EMS on the scene.

The truck was being driven by an 82-year-old male from Neville, while the van was driven by a 35-year-old male from Cadillac. Both of their families have been notified.

While the van had no additional passengers, there was one additional passenger in the truck. They have been treated at the hospital for injuries described as non-life threatening.

Highway Four is open again after the area around the incident saw all lanes closed for investigation. Swift Current Rural RCMP is working with a Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstructionist to further investigate.
