The classic rock band, Ikons of Rock, will be making an appearance in Swift Current this coming weekend on the final evening of Frontier Days.

The band will perform one of their three shows, called Snake Oil, featuring rock from the late 70's and 80's from artists including Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, AC/DC, Pat Benatar, and more.

Darren Moore, band leader of the Ikons of Rock, noted that the band is known to get dressed up in elaborate costumes with stunning effects that engage the audience.

"We started with project, Snake Oil, about ten years ago," he said. "We pay homage to the great classic rock artists of the 70's and 80's, 'hair band' type artists."

The concert is set for 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Kinetic Exhibition Park's Grandstands on Saturday, June 29.

"We love doing it, we've met a lot of the people that we are imitating," said Moore. "We've got everything synced so it sounds exactly like the album, we talk the artists, we walk like them, and dress like them."

Anyone interested in attending the concert can visit the Swift Current Ag and Ex website for tickets, available at $40 for adults and $20 for students ages 11 to 17.

In addition to their three shows, the Ikons of Rock have released an original album. For more information about the band, people can check out the Ikons of Rock's website or visit them on social media.
