Individuals looking to support the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 ahead of Remembrance Day have a big chance to do so today.

It's the final day of 50/50 for Change with proceeds going toward the Swift Current non-profit organization.

The last live-action broadcast for CKSW 570/Eagle 94.1/Magic 97.1/CJSN 1490 and a chance to purchase the $10 tickets will be at Swift Current's Canadian Tire from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

John Griffin, the public relations officer for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56, said the fundraiser has been a great boon for them especially leading into their busy day of the year next week.

"I think we've more people engaging with the Legion in a multitude of different ways," he said. "I'm hoping everyone is thinking of our veterans, especially this time of year, and how we can help them should they need it."

The jackpot headed into the final day sits just shy of $18,000 and was around $11,600 48 hours ago. Once the main draw is made at 2 p.m. today someone will end up with half of whatever the total grows to by then and the Legion will receive some vital funding.

Some of the funds raised will be used to support the local cadets' programs and the remainder will help the Legion improve their facility.

"Doing some necessary upgrades to our hall, that way it can continue to be a bastion of community gathering," he said.

Griffin, on behalf of the Legion and the executive, thanked everyone who has or will be purchasing a ticket and wished everyone good luck.

"Your kindness and generosity humbles and honours us," he said.
