Steve Laycock and his team, with Swift Current's Shaun Meachem and Chris Haichert, saw their run at the SaskTel Tankard in Saskatoon come to an end on Saturday in the Page Playoffs.

Laycock opened the day with a 10-4 win over Dustin Kalthoff in a tiebreaker. Leading 6-4 after eight ends, Laycock sealed the victory with a four-ender in the ninth to advance to Saturday afternoon's 3 v. 4 Page Playoff game against Rylan Kleiter. The teams traded deuces for most of the first half of the game and Kleiter held a 6-4 lead after seven ends.  After singles in the eighth and ninth gave Kleiter a 7-5 lead coming home, Laycock scored two to force an extra end, where Kleiter would pick up two of his own to take a 9-7 win and advance to the semi-final.

In the 1 vs. 2 game on Saturday night, Mike McEwen needed just eight ends to defeat Kody Hartung 7-2 and punch his ticket to Sunday's final. Hartung will face Kleiter in the semi-final on Sunday morning.

The champion will represent Saskatchewan at the Montana's Brier in Regina next month.
