Jace Egland scored the overtime winner on the power play as the Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires came away with a 3-2 victory over the Prince Albert Mintos on Thursday at Art Hauser Centre to even up their first-round SMAAAHL playoff series at two games apiece and force a fifth and deciding game.

Kade Stringer opened the scoring for the Legionnaires 5:39 into the first period, but Taite Donkin and Kelan Simmonds responded with two unanswered goals to give the Mintos a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. The score held until the 15:30 mark of the third period when Jackson Fox tied the game to force overtime. Early in the 10-minute sudden-death extra frame, Raydr Wallington took a four-minute double minor for kneeing and the Legionnaires capitalized on the man advantage with Egland scoring the winner with 5:49 left.

Parker Rondeau added two assists and Berney Weston made 29 saves as Swift Current outshot the Mintos 36-31.

The Legionnaires, who trailed the Mintos 2-0 in the best-of-five series before winning games three and four, will host the winner-take-all game five on Sunday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. from Innovationplex.
