The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires dropped a 5-3 decision to the Yorkton Maulers to split a weekend road swing on Sunday.

Lucas Hvidston opened the scoring for Yorkton with a power play marker in the first period. Connor Rieger tied the game up with a power play goal of his own 1:41 into the second, but Kierin Osberg gave the Maulers a one-goal lead again 13 seconds later. Rieger tied it back up with another goal midway through the middle frame before Yorkton started the third period with three unanswered goals from Hvidston, Aidan Vallance and Tanner Wiens. Sam Kirwan wrapped up the scoring for the Legionnaires.

Jacob Morris made 20 saves as Swift Current outshot the Maulers 32-25.

The Legionnaires (13-5-2) face the Maulers again at Innovationplex next weekend.
