Shaunavon's Kole Lind scored twice and had an assist as Team WHL beat Russia 7-0 in the first game of the CIBC Canada/Russia Series.

Lind, the lone Saskatchewan born player on the WHL roster, opened the scoring in what was a very impressive performance for the Canadian squad in Moose Jaw.

The Kelowna Rockets forward finished +3 with five shots on net to go with his three point night.

Swift Current Broncos forward and WHL leading scorer Tyler Steenbergen scored and had five shots

Broncos defenceman Artyom Minulin suited up for Team Russia and was held off the score sheet with the rest of his team.

The two clubs play again tomorrow night in Swift Current in a rare opportunity to see a World Junior Championship preview at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
