The barbeques will be sizzling this Saturday for a hot dog sale, hosted by the Swift Current Girl Guides Pathfinders Unit.

The event will kick off at 11:00 a.m. outside Canadian Tire and serve as a fundraiser for an interprovincial trip planned for the summer of 2023.

Jennifer Plewis, leader of the local Pathfinders group, elaborated on the long-term goal.

“The girls are just starting to do some fundraising for an interprovincial trip that they are planning for next summer,” she stated. “We are hoping to go on a week-long camping trip on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast.”

Attendees will be able to purchase a hot dog, a pop, and a bag of chips for five dollars until 2:00 p.m.

Plewis added that any support is greatly appreciated by the members.

“The girls would really appreciate any support that they can get in helping them raise lots of money that they're going to need to make the trip a reality for them next summer,” she stated.

Individuals will also be able to place pre-orders for Girl Guides chocolate mint cookies during the barbeque.

The Pathfinders Unit is for Girl Guides aged 12 to 14.
