Five teams from SWAC schools competed at SHSAA regional volleyball tournaments over the weekend, with three moving on to provincials.

The Swift Current Comp High School Colts hosted the 5A Boys south regional tournament, where they only dropped a single set en route to going undefeated through the tournament with wins over Yorkton Regional, Weyburn, Balgonie Greenall and Estevan.

The SCCHS Ardens also went unbeaten in their 5A Girls regional tournament in Weyburn, also defeating Yorkton Regional, Weyburn, Balgonie Greenall and Estevan. Both the Colts and Ardens will compete in 5A Volleyball Provincials in Prince Albert November 17-18.

The Maple Creek senior girls team were in Lanigan for 3A girls' regionals, where they finished second in their pool with a loss to Unity and a win over Watson, and then fell to the hosts in the semi-final. Maple Creek then defeated Maidstone 2-1 to earn the final qualifying spot for provincials next weekend in Indian Head.

At 1A girls' regionals in Bengough, Fox Valley dropped two games against Ogema and Bengough, while Fox Valley defeated Rouleau and Coronach to finish first in their pool but were eliminated with a loss to the hosts in the semi-final.

In boys' conference championships, Fox Valley and Frontier advanced in their 1A tournaments, Ponteix finished second at their 2A tournament in Gravelbourg to advance to regionals, which they'll host next weekend, and the Shaunavon Shadows hosted the 3A conference tournament, where they advanced to regionals after winning a dramatic three-set match against Briercrest Christian Academy.
