Update 1:00 p.m:

Highway 1 from Moose Jaw to Regina has reopened.

Travel is still not recommended from Belle Plaine to Regina

Original Story:

Non-essential travel on many Saskatchewan highways is currently not recommended due to poor winter weather.

Highway 1 from Moose Jaw to Regina, the Regina Highway 1 bypass and the highway from Regina to Balgonie are temporarily closed.

Highways 47, 18, 39, and 9 around the Weyburn, Carlyle and Estevan area are also currently closed.

Closures also exist on Highway 6, 25.94 km north of Jct Highway 13 to Jct Highway 39 and Highway 35 from Jct Highway 1 to Jct Highway 48.

Saskatchewan RCMP has received multiple reports of non-fatal collisions along these highways and are working hard to respond.

Motorists are encouraged to be considerate of emergency vehicles that are required to travel through these poor road conditions.
