Cinema Twin is ready for National Film Day in Swift Current with some reduced ticket prices.

Swift Current's only movie theatre is happy to welcome everyone tonight with movie tickets being reduced to only $4.

In conjunction with theatres across Canada, National Film Day is their way of saying thank you to everyone who helped them to have a record-breaking summer.

Kathy Pratt, owner of Cinema Twin, encourages folks to take advantage of their awesome lineup of films.

“We have the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles playing at 6 p.m.,” said Pratt. “We have the film Haunted Mansion from Disney, which is a fantastic family movie, at 7 o’clock. For adult adventure lovers, we have Jason Statham in The Meg 2.”

Giants like the Mario Movie, The Sound of Freedom, and Barbie shattered records and are continuing to pull crowds in across Canada. After the extensive damages the industry underwent during the pandemic and the shutdowns, they are happy to have had a rebound like this summer.

“We are so happy that people are coming back to the movie theatre to watch movies where they were meant to be watched,” said Pratt. “We've had a fantastic summer, so we know that people are coming back and they're coming back in droves.”

There is still an extra $3 charge for the 3-D film, The Meg 2, which is separate from the cost of the ticket. Every other film will have tickets priced at a flat $4 with no extra charges. Snacks will of course be separate.
