It’s shaping up to be a scorcher of a week in southwest Saskatchewan.

Temperatures hitting the 31 to 34 degree mark are expected for the next few days.

Meteorologist Bob Cormier with Environment Canada, says they are still predicting above average temperatures for the months of July and August.

Cormier adds that temperatures will cool off on Friday, however sunshine will return for the long weekend.

The UV index will be at eight or very high, so if you are doing any work or activities outdoors, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen with an SPF of no less than 15 is needed to help prevent sun burns.
