On Saturday afternoon, Shaunavon RCMP were called to a report of an armed robbery involving a local business located in the Town of Eastend. 

It was reported by an employee that an unknown male filled his vehicle with fuel, before attempting to leave without paying. 

The employee exited the business when the male proceeded to point a long rifle at him, before fleeing the scene. 

Shaunavon RCMP were able to locate the suspect's vehicle at a residence in Eastend a short while later. 

With assistance from Conservation Officers, RCMP members were able to get the suspect to exit the residence, where he was arrested without incident. 

Adam Kormendy, aged 38. Has been charged with a number of offences, including, Robbery using a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Possessing a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order. 

Kormendy is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Swift Current on December 15.
