Western Athletics in Swift Current opened its doors to aspiring cheerleaders. families, and new athletes on Tuesday afternoon for their open house.

The open house began at 5:30 p.m. and attendees could check out the building and learn about the programs they offer. 

Lauren Estabrooks, prep program director at Western Athletics, encourages youth all the way from ages four - 16 to try out for their upcoming fourth season of cheer.

"We got our new building in November, we have brand new mats, and spring mats so we invited anybody to come see the building and check out what we offer," she said. 

Prep-competitive teams are available for U6 - U12 with tryouts on Tuesday, June 11 and no experience is required.

Competitive teams are open to U8 - U16 divisions and tryouts will run from June 10 - 12. 

"We have lots of things planned for this season, we're going to a 57's game on Friday and our performance team is performing," added Estabrooks. "We have lots of things planned in the fall including adult cheer, tot's classes, and ninja tumbling.

"We just have more and more to offer every time, we're hoping to get everybody in the gym."
