The dog days of summer may be ending, but there's still one final event in store to mark the season's conclusion at Fairview Pool.

On Monday, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., those in Swift Current are invited to accompany their four-legged companions as they take a dip during the annual Pooch Plunge.

Meghan Chisholm, the Aquatic Manager for the City of Swift Current, elaborated on the upcoming event.

“Same thing as from previous years, five dollars per dog, we're asking cash only, and it's a fundraiser for the Swift Current SPCA.

Proof of vaccination and City registration for the dog is required to attend the final event at the outdoor pool.

“One dog per handler is allowed, and dogs are permitted to swim in the main pool only,” Chisholm added. “Handlers must remain on the deck, so only our fur friends will be swimming in the pool on Monday evening. You're welcome to bring your own balls or toys, but these will not be supplied by the pool.”

Additionally, handlers are responsible for cleaning up any messes made by their dog.
