An eighth death due to COVID-19 was suffered in the province on Tuesday.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced in their latest daily update that the individual was in their 50s, and resided in the Far North region. As well, the SHA noted an additional death is currently under investigation.

No new cases of the virus were reported, while three new recoveries were announced by the SHA. It's the second time since mid-March that the province was without a daily increase in cases.

There have now been 634 reported cases and 549 recoveries. The active case total now stands at 77.

Five residents are also in hospital - three in the ICU and two receiving inpatient care.
