The Saskatchewan Roughriders opened the CFL pre-season with a 25-12 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Monday at Mosaic Stadium. 

Trevor Harris passed for 123 yards in his first game for Saskatchewan since suffering a knee injury last season. Frankie Hickson scored a touchdown on a one-yard run and Ajou Ajou hauled in a 38-yard catch for a Riders TD. Brett Lauther made three field goals on five attempts.

The Riders wrap up the exhibition schedule in Edmonton on Saturday before returning to Commonwealth to open the regular season on June 8. 

Oilers advance to WCF with game 7 win

The Edmonton Oilers held on for a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night to move on to the NHL's Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars. Cody Ceci, Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins helped Edmonton jump out to a 3-0 lead before the Canucks mounted a late comeback attempt on goals from Conor Garland and Filip Hronek.

The Stars host the Oilers in game one of the conference final on Thursday. The Eastern Conference Final between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers opens at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.

Jays pick up second win in a row to open series with White Sox

Daulton Varsho and Danny Jansen each had two-run homers as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 9-3 for their second straight win. Yusei Kikuchi will start for the Jays as the series continues tonight at Rogers Centre.
