With the start of the new school year just over two weeks away, families around the southwest are working hard to get their children ready to go back to classes. However, some families need more help with that than others.

The Salvation Army in Swift Current is teaming up with Staples to help raise money to buy school supplies for families in need in our community. You can make a cash donation right at the till at Staples in the Swift Current Mall, or if you have extra, unused school supplies, you can drop those off at the store as well.

Sandra Brong from the Salvation Army joined Colin on the Magic Morning Show to talk about this.

In addition, the Salvation Army provides gift certificates for families to purchase clothing from the Salvation Army Thrift Store for the new school year, and they are encouraging the public to donate any children's clothing they may have to help fill the racks there.

If you want more information you can visit the Salvation Army at 780 1st Ave NW in Swift Current, or call 306-778-0515.
