A decrease of six active cases of COVID-19 in the province puts Saskatchewan at their lowest active case total since it was recorded on the Government of Saskatchewan's website, dating back to the end of March.

The Sask Health Authority's daily update Saturday afternoon announced four new confirmed cases and 10 new recoveries from the virus.

Three of the new cases are in the Far North region, while the fourth case is in Regina.

There are now 55 active cases of the virus province-wide. The previous low on the provincial government's COVID-19 chart was 57 - a total that was held for three-straight days from April 23-25, before the curve tilted back in the upward direction.

Two of those cases remain active in the South region. The only region without an active case currently is the Central.

Saskatchewan has now experience 580 total recoveries and 645 reported cases of the coronavirus.

There was also a decrease in the number of people in hospital - lowering from four to three cases. One person is in the ICU in Saskatoon, while the other two are receiving inpatient care - one each in Saskatoon and Regina.

A total of 47,114 tests for the virus have now been performed around the province with an increase of 660 from Friday.
