The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province now stands at 206 after the Sask Health Authority announced another 13 in their Thursday update this afternoon.

Four cases remain the hospital. Two are in intensive care – one apiece in Saskatoon and Regina, with the other two receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.

Breaking down the source of the contraction, 96 cases are related to travel, 44 are from community contact/mass gatherings, 10 have unknown sources, and 56 are still under investigation.

Of the 206 cases, nine are now reported in the south region of the province. Regina has 44 of its own, Saskatoon has 103 cases, 36 are in the north region, nine in the central, and three cases are still in the far north.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries now sits at 36 after another six were reported by the SHA today.

The Roy Romanow Provincial Lab has now performed 11,395 tests – the second-highest rate of testing per capita among Canadian provinces.

Dr. Saqib Shahab, Chief Medical Health Officer with the province, will be speaking later this afternoon in Regina.
