In the August 21 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of six new cases of the virus in the province.

These new cases are two in the North West, one in the North East, one in Saskatoon, and two in the South West zones.

This brings the provincial total of cases in Saskatchewan to 1,595. One out of province Saskatchewan case previously counted has been removed.

Of the 1,595 cases, 134 are considered active.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 85 of the 134 active cases are in communal living settings.

In the South West there are a total of 41 active cases.

There is twenty more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,439.

There are currently five people in hospital. One person is receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. And four people are in intensive care, all in Saskatoon.

There have been 22 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to date.

To date, 127,896 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

Yesterday, 1,271 COVID-19 tests were done.
