Maple Creek's Zack Smith scored twice as the Ottawa Senators downed Tampa Bay 4-2 in NHL action on Monday night. The former Bronco has 5 goals in his last 5 games for a total of 8 goals and 7 assists in 27 games this season. It's his first full season in the NHL after spending last season between the Senators and their American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton. Smith had 9 points in 55 NHL games in 2010-2011.

"Ice time is a big part of being confident," Smith said. "When the coach has confidence in you it translates into your game."

Smith wasn't the only former Swift Current Bronco to get in on the scoring action in the NHL on Monday. Cody Eakin scored the third of his NHL career but his Washington Capitals fell 5-4 to the Florida Panthers.
