Big money is having a bigger impact at the Southwest Facility Foundation.

Stark & Marsh in Swift Current recently committed $150,000 to the SWFF.

This enormous sum of cash was elected for donation after the owner of Stark & Marsh recognized the importance of the SWFF goal.

Elden Moberg, chief executive officer for Stark & Marsh, feels that the project of a new track and field house or aquatic centre is beneficial for everyone in Swift Current and the surrounding area.

"Obviously, this is an important project in the community," said Moberg. "From Stark & Marsh's perspective, we've been in the Community a long time and we believe in supporting community projects, and we think this is a real good one."

The SWFF is aiming to raise $8 million over the course of ten years. This donation will be pushing them ever closer to their first million, all within their first year of operations.

For Moberg and the rest of Stark & Marsh, the idea that this project is not only achievable but is something that would last is a real motivator to support it.

"Those types of things in the community are our calling cards not only to draw people into the community but also to keep people in our community," highlighted Moberg. "We felt it was our civic duty to join in and help out."

This money will be donated over ten years, as a commitment. There has been no discussion so far as to what exactly this money will be used for, outside of generating the capital needed for government funding interest.

"That will be a decision that ownership can make at that time," said Moberg. "As we get into when shovels get in the ground."
