In the August 28 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of two new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those two new cases, one is in the Far North West zone and one is in the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total of cases to 1,611, of which 44 are considered active.

In the South West zone there are 13 active cases.

Investigations completed so far have found that 20 of the 44 active cases are in communal living settings.

There have been 16 more recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,543.

Three people are in hospital. One person is receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon and two people are in intensive care in Saskatoon.

There have been 24 COVID-19 deaths in the province.

To date, 136,333 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

Yesterday there were 1,561 COVID-19 tests done.
